Not Too Bad I Guess

Although I had a week full of sickness last week I still managed to drink my water. I had a couple of days that I didn't get it drank like I had wanted to but it didn't hurt too bad I guess. Weigh-in was yesterday and I still lost. I only lost .2 lbs but it was still a loss. It seems the closer I get to my first goal (only 1.7 lbs to go) the slower it is coming off. But then I'm not really staying away from the things I shouldn't. I am still eating those things that I want to eat just being sure not to eat beyond my point of satisfaction.

The whole point to my weight-loss this time around is to control my eating habits....or should I say let the Lord control my eating habits. This is a new way of eating for me and and healthier way of eating. I haven't counted "points" in several weeks now and I'm still losing. So that is encouraging. That tells me that I'm doing better with my way of eating and my portions. We can all lose weight if we will just eat till we are satisfied and DRINK OUR WATER!!

Sis. Karen (who heads up our group at church) has challenged each of us ladies to drink our water (8 glasses) each day and come back next Sunday and see how we did with our weight-loss. We will lose by eating less but we will lose more by drinking our water as well as eating less. Why don't you take this challenge with us starting today. Drink your 64-68 oz. of water each day this week and see how it helps you with your weight-loss.

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

Hello! I've read your daughter-in-law's blog the past few months and just came across your blog and wanted to encourage you in your new healthy life. I've been through a recent health change in my life as well ( you can read about it in my blog under the health topic). You are very right about the water and one thing that might make it easier is to purchase yourself a really fun and cute water bottle that reflects your personality. I have a 64 oz pink jug that I bought at a local water store. I fill mine half way each time and seem to drink a lot more from it by doing so. Plus the water stays cold, which is better for your body - when you drink cold water, your body burns more calories trying to warm it up.

Anyway, just a little tip I thought might be useful to you. Having something fun to drink your water fun will make the experience that much more enjoyable!

God bless,
Danielle

danielle...thank you so much for stopping by and letting me know you were here. I will come by your blog when I get an extra minute to do so. Actually....I don't really need the encouragement to drink my water. I'm the only one in our weight-loss group that doesn't have that problem. I drink my water without any problem. Its funny that you should mention how you drink your water...I do exactly the same thing. I have a 64 oz. jug that I fill all the way with ice then fill completely with water and then I will drink all of that and fill it again with water at least once. It keeps my water VERY cold and I like it that way. I didn't think about our body burning calories warming the water in our bodies. That makes sense...thanks for letting me know that.

Have a great day and thank you again for your comment.

Hey Julie,
